Museum as game.

Hakuhodo, one of Japan’s largest advertising agencies, engaged The Apt to complete work for Tepco, Tokyo Electric Power Company. The Apt was charged with contemplating strategy and design for a new energy museum for children in the Japanese capital. Inspired by the video gaming experience, we delivered a concept that re-cast an educational institution as a game.  Visitors would choose an avatar upon arrival, and carry a representation of the character with them. The language and devices of gaming - trials, rewards, badges, and points - would be used throughout the museum, with children earning access to new rooms and floors as they played at numerous interactive stations. While thoroughly entertained, the players would also be expanding their knowledge of nuclear energy.
